Dallas County voters will be asked for a ballot measure for the November General Election about a proposed project.

According to County Attorney Jeannine Ritchie, Dallas County is proposing a $56.9 million bond referendum to build a criminal court building. Ritchie states that the new facility will address critical issues related to function, security, technology, efficiency, and accessibility, while also preserving the historic character of the existing Dallas County Courthouse. 

Eight public informational meetings have been scheduled throughout the month for people to learn more about the needs of the county and the court system. The first meeting will be taking place this coming Tuesday at the Dallas County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, 902 Court Street, in Adel at 6:30pm. For a full list of the meetings, see below.
