The Perry School District recently was greeted with a kind gesture from a non-profit student organization.

The group “Love for Red” focuses on ending period poverty through service, advocacy, and awareness. Perry High School Nurse Jenny Lansing shares that the high school and middle school were given 1,000 menstrual products for the female students. She expresses her appreciation to Love for Red.

“Very generous and it’s something that is not talked about enough with the stigma with it, so just to have these people being generous to give them to us and it’s been a huge help here at the Perry High School and Middle School.”

Lansing details that students helped staff with making laminated logo sheets that are in the bathrooms. Love for Red partners with 31 schools in Iowa covering 10 school districts, and Lansing is grateful that Perry is one of them.
