A couple of parks in the City of Adel have been polished up in time for the fall season.

The Adel Parks and Recreation Department recently applied asphalt overlays to the Evans Park Trail and Kinnick Feller Park. Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it was a necessary time for a refresh.

“The trail has gotten to that point like where the cracks become too large from ground settling and stuff like that to be able to patch them and repair the cracks, so then it requires an overlay.”

Dillinger notes that work began at Kinnick Feller Park on September 24th and Evans Park was on the following day on September 25th, with both projects lasting one day to complete. She concludes that the overlay is not done yearly, but periodically when the trails become pretty rough.
