The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

Turner Construction gave an update of the new administration building project in Adel detailing that the furniture recently arrived on Monday and how the fitness center is coming along with lockers and equipment. The organization also reviewed how much work has been done as the project originally got underway October 2023 and is set to begin moving employees in on October 21st. A pay application was approved to Turner Construction for general conditions in the amount of $965,794.32.

Other items on the agenda that were approved at Tuesday’s meeting included three resolutions with the Dallas County Planning and Development Division for a final plat of Osage Plat #1, south of Highway F90 near DeSoto, a resolution to rezone five acres of a property on 365th Street in Earlham, owned by Alan Parry, as well as a resolution for the final plat of the subdivision property to Parry.

The board also approved several items from the Secondary Roads Department pertaining to a right of way purchase agreement for the B Avenue Bridge project for $12,992, a request for out of state travel for Dallas County Maintenance Superintendent Jeff Ockerman to attend a winter maintenance meeting at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in October, as well as a resolution of a transfer of title from the City of Dawson approved as presented. 

Additionally, County Attorney Jeannine Ritchie discussed putting together an Opioid Settlement Oversight Committee to review applications from organizations that wish to use funds of $750 and how that money will be distributed. After extensive discussion, the item was approved by Supervisor Kim Chapman and was second by Supervisor Mark Hanson. The meeting ended by entering into a closed session.
