A Perry man has been taken into custody following alleged sex acts with a minor.

According to court documents, 22-year-old Aaveyohn Akeem Travis was reportedly groping a female child. An investigation by the Perry Police Department started on Monday and photo evidence was found on a witness’ phone on the social media platform Snapchat that allegedly shows Travis touching the child inappropriately. The victim told officers that she went to Travis’ house where he offered her to smoke marijuana with him, which the victim tried, but did not like.

Court documents show that Travis claimed that he touched the victim but not inappropriately and that he did not offer marijuana to smoke, and that he thought the victim’s age was 18. He was arrested and charged with two Class B Felonies second degree sexual abuse and drug distribution violation to a person under the age of 18, and a Class C Felony for lascivious acts with a child. Travis was booked into the Dallas County Jail where he is being held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to bring you more information as it becomes official.
