A local public figure in the City of Perry will be recognized tomorrow with a special dedicated plaque, posthumously.
Hometown Heritage is honoring former longtime Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger by placing him on the Wall of Witnesses in Soumas Court. Hometown Heritage President Bill Clark describes that Marburger will be approximately the 26th individual to be apart of the historic wall, with a special ceremony taking place at 5pm tomorrow inside the Hotel Pattee Ballroom, 1112 Willis Ave.
“We’re going to meet and gather together, and then we will unveil the ceramic relief made by the artist, of Dan Marburger. We’ll do so with honor, and we’ll have his family there and friends there, and people will have an opportunity to talk about Dan at that event.”
The Wall of Witnesses is located in Soumas Court featuring individuals who have made an impact in the community of Perry. Jim Walstrom, the only living member on the Wall of Witnesses, comments that Marburger was the appropriate person to receive the tribute this year, after tragically passing away from the January 4th shooting at the high school. The ceremony will be open to the public as people are welcome to share stories about Marburger.
