The now 13-12 Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs volleyball team would participate in the Nevada Volleyball Tournament yesterday and would achieve a split decision. The Mustangs would face off against the Carrol Tigers first and would achieve a 2-0 victory then would fall to the Boundurant-Farrar Bluejays 2-1. The contest between the Mustangs and the Tigers would be a close fought battle, with only a five point difference between the two sets. The Mustangs would claim a 23-21 victory in the first set, and a find 21-18 victory to claim a 2-0 victory. Dallas Center-Grimes would then face Boundurant-Farrar and would fall by 2 points in the first set to the Bluejays 21-19. The Mustangs would come back with a fire, claiming a 21-12 victory over the Bluejays. Now into the third and final set, the Mustangs and the Bluejays would fight a close knit battle but the Bluejays would come out victorious 15-11.
The Mustang volleyball team now sits at 13-12 so far in the season and prepare to face the Norwalk Warriors for a pink out at home. The action is set to begin at Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Tuesday at 7:15pm.
