Today Greene County residents can support a fundraiser for a local library and meet candidates that are in the contested elections.
Churdan Library Director Shari Minnihan says they are hosting a Harvest Meal Fundraiser from 11am-1pm in the north parking lot. For a free will donation, people can enjoy a hot ham or turkey and cheese sandwich, baked beans, chips and a cookie, with the suggested donation of $8. Attendees are to enter from the east alleyway to pick up a meal. Proceeds will be used for programs and other materials for the library.
Minnihan notes that during the same time, a couple of candidates that are running in some of the contested elections will be on hand for a meet and greet opportunity. The candidates that plan to be there today include Democrat for Supervisor District 1 is Greg Ruth, and running as party not affiliate for sheriff is Shane Monthei. The other opportunity for a meet and greet with the candidates will be Tuesday, October 8th from 7-8:30pm in the library meeting room. Those candidates include all of the individuals running for the three supervisor seats, the Republican incumbent for sheriff Jack Williams and Republican incumbent for county auditor that is uncontested is Billie Jo Hoskins.
