In the September Adair – Casey and Guthrie Center School Board meetings, one of the topics that came up was security.

AC/GC Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that part of what he shared in his report to each Board was that emergency personnel and school officials within Guthrie County met during the first month of the school year, and went over different safety protocols that the different districts have for their buildings. He mentions that another part of that discussion was what law enforcement learned from the January 4th incident at Perry High School.

Rasmussen mentions that what was shared with the school officials was that Dallas County Dispatch had access to the cameras in Perry High School, which proved beneficial to responding law enforcement officers. He explains that after discussing the Boards agreed that sharing access to the district’s cameras was something that they were interested in. Rasmussen says that another part of the safety discussion that he had with the Boards was on the training that staff and faculty did at the start of the year.
