September is known as World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month as a local organization in Dallas County details the services they provide.

Senior Life Solutions, located inside Dallas County Hospital, in Perry is a department that specializes in assisting individuals with health conditions. Program Therapist Tiara Lewis tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Senior Life Solutions closely monitors people 65 years and older that deal with depression, anxiety, or grief and loss. She reveals that their focus isn’t necessarily on Alzheimer’s, but outlines the process their department walks through.

“So we would bring a patient in (and) we would service them to the best of our abilities with individual and group therapy. We would socialize with the patient, and then just meet them at their lowest point of need until we could get them out into the community services.”
