The 10th Annual Art Harvest Tour will take place on Saturday and Sunday as it makes a couple of stops in the City of Perry.

According to Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, two local businesses of Mary Rose Collective and Betsy Peterson Designs will be displaying artwork in the community. Shari Janssen, who is a weaver for her self-orchestrated organization of Creations Looming in Woodward, gives a glimpse into the designs that she works on.

“I have six looms that are actually up and running, ready to go, but I have 10 (looms). You can come out, I’ve got a couple you can sit down and weave as well.”

Janssen admits that she has been attending the harvest tour for nine years, pointing out that Creations Looming Studio has been a staple feature during that time. Janssen outlines where her love for art comes from.

“I was a sales rep(resentative) and one of the stores I called on, there was a gentleman there that he was a weaver, and his mom has Alzheimer’s and he kept her clothing and everything that he was weaving, he put a strip of her clothing in it. And I love anything with a story, and that right there was a story and every loomed that I have purchased has a story to it.”

The harvest tour will include 11 stops with 22 artists’ projects throughout six locations of Perry, Woodward, Jefferson, Boone, Ogden, and Ames. The event is happening Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm.
