Several swimmers from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School marked great performances, despite losing overall to Johnston on Tuesday.
ADM, who partners with Waukee Schools, swam at Johnston High School on Tuesday, where they fell to the Dragons 94-92. A couple of swimmers for the Tigers placed well in their respective races. Sophomore Finlee Burns finished in first for the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 26.13. Burns was second in the 100-meter butterfly at 1:03.07. Junior Emma Popp won the 100-meter backstroke at 1:02.95 over her teammate, Freshman Maya Moore (1:04.90). She was also second in the 200-meter individual medley at 2:21.41.
Burns and Popp will join the rest of the Waukee swimmers for their next meet on Saturday in West Des Moines at Valley High School at 8:30am.
