A mayor within Dallas County relays the city’s role as a new school is in the process of being built.
According to Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Superintendent Greg Dufoe, the school board will oversee a bid opening in January for construction of a new high school. Adel Mayor Jim Peters tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the city is working alongside the school district as well as the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) on the new site plan for ADM High School. He mentions that the location is outside of the city limits, but outlines the recommendations they are making.
“We’re suggesting some ingress and egress, in other words, roads going in and roads going out because eventually that location, there will be development around the school. And then also the DOT, the city supported a roundabout, which the DOT had proposed and we unanimously supported the roundabout.”
Peters is hopeful that these additions will go towards improving the overall travel for residents in Adel along Highway 169.
