Tim Heisterkamp with Journey Financial is one of the speakers

The public is invited to the Greene County Development Corporation Community Annual Event next week.

GCDC Executive Director Ken Paxton says the program will be held on Monday at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. The doors will open at 6pm with free appetizers and an open bar, followed by the program around 6:30pm. Paxton tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he will start with a slideshow recapping last year’s news businesses and events that were started and then there will be three featured speakers.

Paxton says the first speaker is going to be Multicultural Family Resource Center Director Sara Huddleston with an introduction and update from her since starting this past July. Paxton describes the second speaker with Journey Financial Owner Tim Heisterkamp who will provide updates to the renovations of where his business will be located, at the former Homestead Coffee and Bakery building at the intersection of East Lincoln Way and Chestnut Street in Jefferson. Paxton points out the last speaker is the co-owners Greg Hacker and Shirley Snyder of the Courtyard Wedding and Events Center in Jefferson that recently officially opened to the public.

Paxton explains the importance for people to attend their event on Monday.

“We need to make sure that we get some visibility and people are aware of what we’re doing, and not only that what other people are doing within our community. So it isn’t just GCDC, it’s all the projects that have come into it, for example once again the Courtyard Conference Center. It’s just a lot of things going on and this is one place where you can see kind of everything that’s really happened in the last year both through GCDC and other members of our community.”

The Community Annual Event is free and open to the public, with no pre-registration required.
