Greene County meets Kuemper Catholic at Carroll Athletic Field this Friday in Class 2A District 8 football. The 3-1 Knights are ranked in the top 10 of various 2A football polls. The Rams are 2-2 after winning its Homecoming game last Friday over Saydel (Des Moines), 44.14. The Greene County lead was 18-14 at the end of the third period, but a 26-0 fourth quarter advantage allowed the coaches of the Rams to play nearly their entire roster down the stretch.

Kuemper Catholic started district play on their home field with a 22-14 overtime victory over Roland-Story (Story City) last Friday. The Norsemen led 7-0 and 14-7, but the Knights tied the game each time. The Knights had the ball first in overtime and they threw a touchdown pass on fourth and goal, then converted a two-point conversion. R-S did not reach the end zone on their four downs in OT.
