No funeral services planned for Alan Derby, 77, of Greenfield.  A family remembrance will be held at a later date.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

 Memorials:  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Greater Greenfield Community Foundation, to be used toward planting trees lost in last spring’s tornado.

Survivors:  Alan is survived by his wife Julie, his daughters Stephanie and Laura (Andrew), his sister Janet Derby, his brother in law Paul (Jan) Clemmensen. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former students, and colleagues, all of whom remember his inspiring presence. Alan’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the creative spirit he nurtured in everyone who knew him.
