The Perry Public Library is holding a festive event in anticipation of a new fictional book.

The library will have a Perry Jackson Tween Party to coincide with the new book, Perry Jackson, Wrath of the Triple Goddess on Tuesday. The program is for students between third and fifth grade. Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper describes that fun themed activities are planned for youth to participate in.

“We’re going to make lightning bolts, laurel wreaths, Hermes wings for your shoes, Olympians shields, (and) Medusa Masks. We’ll have blue snacks because Percy likes to eat blue things. We might have some tablecloth togas to put on, maybe a little costume contest, (and) I’m also going to have a quest for the kids to go on.”

The program is free with no registration required as participants will meet in the Library Community Room on Tuesday from 4-5pm. Any questions about the program can be directed to the Perry Public Library at (515)-465-3569.
