The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Cross Country Head Coach Josh Chapman is proud of his team’s performance early on in the season, despite battling some hurdles.

Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s happy with the production he’s getting from the team through the first four meets of the year, but many of the runners have been dealing with an array of sicknesses. He acknowledges that the guys have been faced with the health issues since the start of the season, and they haven’t had one meet yet where the whole team is completely healthy. Regardless, Chapman is impressed with the commitment the Tiger runners have to push through it.

“Guys are stepping up. It’s really fun to see this team and the depth that we have this year, where it’s being very competitive as far as who’s going to be in that varsity lineup.”

Thus far, ADM was third in the Johnston meet to open the season, followed by another third place finish in Pella, fourth place in Ames, and recently won first in Ballard on Monday. The Tigers are making a trip up north to Falcon Heights, Minnesota to run in the Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course tomorrow at 1:30pm.
