The Paton-Churdan School District is celebrating its Homecoming Week this week, in conjunction with the Greene County School District.

According to Principal Annie Smith, the coronation ceremony took place this past Sunday as Kinnick Steimel was crowned the king and queen was Grace Cullum. P-C also selects a mini king and queen and this year the honor went to Krew Chesler as the mini king and Elsie Olson as the mini queen.

Smith notes that this year’s Homecoming theme is “Under the Sea” and students, as well as staff, are encouraged to participate on dress up days. Monday was pajama day with “A Night on the Sea,” Tuesday is “Bait and Tackle” as people dress as sea creatures versus fishermen. Wednesday is known as “Coral Reef Color Day” with different grades wearing designated colors. Thursday is “Beach Vacation Day” and Friday is “Battle of the Seas Day” with spirit gear.

P-C is asking the public to “Pack the Gym” on Thursday for the home volleyball match starting at 6:30pm with free admission to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Kids that are pre-k through fifth grade need to be accompanied by a paid adult.
