Perry High School’s Homecoming is this week, with the parade happening tomorrow evening.
Secondary Instructional Coach Brenda Mintun tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the theme this year is “Around the World.” There will be a parade around Perry High School tomorrow, starting at 6pm. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti welcomes participants to register to be apart of the festivities.
“Encourage businesses, organizations, (or) individuals that would like to be apart of the parade to line up over at the high school, and then it will circle around, start and finish at the high school, so line the streets and be apart of the homecoming fun, and the coronation will be afterwards.”
Perry Activities Director Tina Lutterman details that there will be no classes tomorrow due to Volunteer Day.
“Students are out in the community sharing their time and their talents with different projects that staff members came up with.”
Mintun mentions that there are five king and five queen candidates this year, and that the coronation will take place in the high school gymnasium at 8pm. Before that, the Junior Class will have a cookout and games in the parking lot of the Performing Arts Center from 6-8pm.
Perry has a dress up focus each day this week. Monday was Mid-western Day, Today is Tropical Tuesday, tomorrow is World Champs Wednesday, Thursday is Colorful Culture Day, and Friday is Hometown Football Friday. The festivities will end with the Homecoming Dance in the commons at Perry High School Saturday night from 7-10pm.
