The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During reports, Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn said he filed the Supervisors objection resolution to the second phase of the underground carbon dioxide pipeline project that is proposed by Summit Carbon Solutions to all 14 dockets with the Iowa Utilities Commission.
The Board then set a public hearing date of October 7th at 9am for the authorization of a loan agreement not to exceed $24,750,000 of general obligation urban renewal capital loan notes. This is from the tax increment financing (TIF) funds from the newly installed wind turbines in the northeast portion of the county. County Engineer Wade Weiss said the funds would be used on projects that are outlined in the urban renewal plan for road repavement projects.
County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins added that the public can voice their opinion, for or against, at the hearing on October 7th.
