The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a special program for high school students on Thursday.
According to Conservation Outreach Coordinator Jeni Baker, Silver Cord Service Nights on the Prairie is an opportunity for high school students in Dallas County to learn about harvesting prairie seed, Monarch butterflies, plus discover more behind Iowa’s ecology. She adds that silver cord hours are for volunteer purposes to rack up credits in order for students to graduate. The event will be held Thursday from 5-6:30pm at the Kuehn Conservation Area.
