The 2024 Raccoon River Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s is this Weekend in Panora.
Raccoon River Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s Chair David Grove says that with treatments that can now help families have more time together, the Walk is even more important in all communities that host one. He mentions that there is no registration fee for participants, but individuals can donate, should they wish to help the Alzheimer’s Association provide care and support for those that need it. The walk begins at Michael Mills Park in Panora, with registration starting at 8:30am, with the opening ceremonies to follow, and then the walk itself starts at 9:30am. This event is a way for those affected by the common dementia related disease, by putting together a Promise Garden Ceremony. Flowers in the Garden will be purple, yellow, blue and orange, with each color representing a different reason that someone may have joined the walk.
