The Panorama School Board met in regular session Monday night.

Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that the meeting was quick and went well. He mentions that the Board approved the District priorities and goals, along with the juvenile justice agency sharing agreement. Huebner tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they also approved the first readings of the Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy policy revision and the addition of the Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy policy.

“It really comes down to, not necessarily every excused absence will be exempted from that chronic absenteeism percentage. And there’s different thresholds that if a student hits that percentage, like, let’s say they’ve missed 10 percent of that grading period, that’s essentially the chronic absenteeism.”

Huebner mentions that depending on how much school a student misses, the district may be required to contact the County Attorney’s Office. He adds that the Board also discussed what to do with remaining Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds, and set the date for a public hearing on a resolution to transfer funds to the flexibility account within the general fund account.
