Greene County hosts its one and only home cross-country meet of the season today. Jefferson Community Golf Course is the site of the coed event, which starts at 4:30 p.m. Middle School girls run first, followed by middle school boys, then high school girls, with high school boys rounding out the event. The races are two miles in length for middle schoolers and five kilometers (3.1 miles) for those in high school. The teams involved in addition to the Rams are Perry, Panorama, West Central Valley, Ogden, Southeast Valley (Gowrie), and Denison-Schleswig.

Ram volleyball remains on the road when they face Heart of Iowa Activities Conference newcomer Grand View Christian of Des Moines. The new GVC playing facility is still under construction, so tonight’s match will be at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny. The Thunder are 3-9 overall and 0-1 in the conference while the Rams are 3-5, 1-0.

Paton-Churdan is also home tonight for volleyball. Coach Makayla Spaar’s Rockets host Glidden-Ralston in Churdan in the Rolling Valley Activities Conference opener. The Rockets are 2-1 so far.
