The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Cross Country team is gearing up for their third meet of the season tonight in Ames.

The Tigers will run at Iowa State University this afternoon against 18 other teams following top four finishes in their first two meets. ADM opened the year in Johnston placing second, scoring 85 points. The Tigers captured third place in Pella at the Dutch Invite with 96 points. Head Coach Steve Brown tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Pella meet is one that is familiar to ADM, and that several girls increased their time significantly, recognizing top performances.

“Elliotte (Von Roden) continues to really lead us, she’s having a great start to her freshmen year. Allie Eggleston right there with her, and one of our captains Evelyn Horgen, she’s a senior, she’s improved from last year to this year by almost four minutes, and so she’s running really really well for us, so pretty excited about the improvement that we’re seeing.”

The Tigers will attempt another top five finish tonight as the meet starts up after the boys (5pm race) at 5:25pm in Ames for the girls.
