A special announcement is set to take place on Wednesday for the community of Perry with Raccoon Valley Radio.

Hometown Heritage, in Perry, is going to reveal the name of the 2024 recipient to be featured on the Wall of Witnesses in October. Hometown Heritage President Bill Clark breaks down the criteria for a person to be apart of the Wall of Witnesses.

“A person who had ties to Perry, number one; made an impact on the community, number two; and has an interesting story.”

Jim Walstrom, who is the only living member on the Wall of Witnesses, describes how special it is to be celebrated in that way.

“It changed my life, and it was a great honor for me, but also for my wife, for my children, my friends, (and) my relatives.”

Clark estimates that approximately 25 plaques are on the Wall of Witnesses in Soumas Court. The 2024 recipient will be shared during Raccoon Valley Radio’s Let’s Talk Dallas County segment this coming Wednesday, September 18th at 9:12am, 12:45pm, and 5:45pm on KDLS 94.3 FM/1310 AM and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
