A Perry man in his mid-20s died in jail on Friday.

Sources say that 24-year-old Justin Skaggs, of Perry, passed away Friday morning a couple of hours after being booked into the Polk County Jail on charges stemming from violating probation and possession of methamphetamine. According to sources, Skaggs suffered from a medical episode at a hospital in Des Moines. 

The investigation is ongoing to determine more details relating to the medical episode. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
