
Perry football hosted their rivals Greene County last night. In the battle of the Cowbell, Greene County grabbed the win 36-7. The Rams bring the Cowbell back to Jefferson for a seventh straight year.
It was a tight first half that saw both teams score one TD. Greene County scored on their first possession after blocking a Perry punt. The Rams took over on the Perry 20 and ended up rushing it in with Nick Stream. Greene County took a 7-0 lead after the first. Perry got the passing game going as Kenney was 6/6 in the first half and led Perry to a TD on a 1 yard rush with 6:25 in the second. The game was tied at 7 at half.
Keely for Greene County would return the second half kickoff for a TD and the Rams would add two more touchdowns to take a commanding 29-7 lead into the 4th. Final 36-7.
Perry falls to .500 with the loss. The Bluejays now sit at 1-1.
Next up for Perry is a road contest against Ogden on Friday, September 13. KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will have the broadcast.
