As the November General Election continues to get closer, one Jefferson city official is reminding property owners about proper placement of political signs.
City Administrator Scott Peterson says property owners are only allowed to have political signs on private property.
“The signs are not placed on the parking area or the area between the sidewalk and the city street. So encourage folks to get out there and support their candidates, but when they do have their signs out please just make sure they are on private property.”
As per city ordinance, improper placement of signs could result in the removal of the signs if they are found in the city-owned easement area of someone’s property.
