The Perry School District is zeroing in on a couple of areas during the 2024-25 school year.

Prior to the beginning of the new school year, several administrative staff members went to a conference in Las Vegas, Nevada pertaining to academic goals. According to Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks, Middle School Principal Ned Menke and Associate Principal Adam Jessen conducted a presentation with two main achievements in mind. Wicks shares that one area revolves around a supportive learning environment.

“That was a conference all about building a positive culture. They did a tremendous job talking about different things that we can do to help with that positive environment, helping kids to be more confident.”

Wicks touches on the other area of educational excellence, that was headed up by the Director of Teaching and Learning, Kevin Vidergar.

“What we talked about there was the teacher leadership program, and then just key points in helping first and second year teachers with the mentoring program.”

Wicks believes that there were lots of great strategies that were deliberated on, and is happy to implement them throughout the school year.
