The high school volleyball seasons for Greene County and Paton-Churdan get back underway later today.
Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams are 1-2 after a victory over Mason City and losses to Ballard (Huxley) and Dallas Center-Grimes last Tuesday at DC-G. The Rams play four other teams today at Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll starting with the host Knights at 4:30 p.m. The second match is with Ogden, followed by a meeting with Roland-Story (Story City), and the last match of the night against Ames High. All sets are to 21 points and the matches are best two-of-three sets.
Paton-Churdan is 1-0 after ending a long losing streak dating back to late in the 2022 season. Coach Makayla Spaar’s Rockets won in four sets in Churdan last Thursday vs. Storm Lake St. Mary’s. Tonight, the Rockets play in Orient vs. Orient-Macksburg. The Bulldogs are 0-1 after losing in five sets to Melcher-Dallas in their opener.
