Wins have been hard to come by for Perry football the last few years.  In his first career game as head coach, Josh Vannornam, led the Bluejays to a 35- 21 victory over Des Moines Hoover.  It was a unique game as the contest began on Thursday and was completed on Friday thanks to a weather delay.  Thursday saw the Bluejays take at 28-21 lead with 3:57 to play in the second.  The continuation saw just seven points as the Perry defense pitched a shutout and Perry added on an insurance TD.  Josh Vannornam received the game ball following the win.  He told WHO-TV  ” Absolutely blessed.  This team has faced a lot of adversity over this week and I’m very very proud of them and it feels good to pour my heart into something I love.”

Perry will play their first home game of the season this Friday night.  Greene County comes to Dewey Field as the two rivals play for the Cowbell.  Kickoff is set for 7P and the Perry Hy-Vee Pregame Show will start at 6P on 94.3, 99.7, and AM 1310 KDLS.
