The Greene County Historical Society invites the public to its next monthly program coming up.
The free program that happens on the first Friday of the month will be on September 6th at 12:45pm at the St. Patrick’s Church west of Churdan. The focus will be on an alternative energy source of wind power with featured speaker Tom Wind. A Greene County farmer, Wind has 25 years of wind energy experience and owns three wind turbines in northern Greene County, and are part of 158 turbines, including 85 that were built by MidAmerican Energy.
Attendees can learn more about wind power at the free program. A lunch will be served at noon by the St. Patrick’s parishioners with a $12 fee. Contact Program Coordinator Margaret Hamilton at 515-386-4408 by Tuesday to reserve a meal.
