The Perry offense erupted for the most points since 2017 as the Bluejays defeated Des Moines Hoover 35-21 in the resumption of Thursday weather interrupted game.  The game started Friday with 3:57 to go in the second quarter as Perry led 28-21.  What happened Thursday night.

The 20 hour delay gave the defenses a chance to make adjustments.  Thursday saw 49 points scored.  Only 7 would be scored on Friday.  Kenney was able to find the end zone for the third time after a 8 yard rush.  The Perry defense forced 3 turnovers.  In the second half, Perry forced 4 turnover on downs and a punt to allow no points.

Kenney finished with a game high 112 yards on the ground.  He added 64 yards through the air.  The senior ran in 3 TD’s.  Cerna-Gomez accounted for the other 2 scores.  A fumble return and a rushing one.

Perry starts the season 1-0 for a second straight year.  They host Greene County Friday night as the rivalry for the Cowbell is renewed.
