The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council heard from Jason Van Ausdall of Veenstra and Kim regarding portable storage containers, and after hearing his recommendations, the Council requested City Administrator Lisa Grossman to bring a draft of an ordinance for portable storage containers to the next meeting. The Council also discussed keeping building codes current with Van Ausdall and the changes that were introduced with the 2021 Edition of the International Codes, then approved the first reading of an ordinance repealing Chapter 144 Building Codes and replacing them with a new Chapter 144 Building Codes referencing the 2021 Edition of the International Codes.
The Council then set a public hearing on the ordinance to repeal Chapter 144 of the Municipal Code of Panora and adopt by reference the 2021 Edition of the International Codes for September 9th at 5:30pm. They also appointed Alli Halsey, Deb Rockwell and Erin Bendickson as library board members, and approved a request for the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages at Michael Mills Park for the Panorama Junior Class softball fundraiser on September 14th and 15th, along with a Community Development Building Grant contract for $14,192.
