Some new structures were recently installed at a local park in the City of Perry.
The Perry Parks Department is adding new sail shade structures near Caboose Park. Perry Deputy Parks & Recreation Director Becky Halling tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the sail shades were added to provide more comfort to people who want to enjoy a nice day.
“It’s just a beautiful place to sit, it’s used quite a bit with people sitting there eating their lunches, and with the trail being there as well. We’re just beautifying that area and offering some shaded area too.”
Halling notes that the park deals with a heavy amount of foot traffic, especially being the home of the stationary food truck of MC Snacks. According to the City of Perry, the structures are rated at 99% sun screening for dangerous ultraviolet rays.
