Dog owners are invited to cool down at a special event tomorrow in Jefferson.

Nathan Kral is the assistant director of the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department and says the Doggie Swim Day is tomorrow at the Jefferson Municipal Pool from 5:30-6:30pm. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio dogs that are up to date on vaccines can swim on the final day that the pool is open for the season. He reminds pet owners that they are responsible for their canine’s behavior and they must clean up after their pet. 

Kral notes that about 20-30 dogs attended last year and free will donations will be accepted, but not required. He adds all donations will be given to the animal shelter in Jefferson. Following the Doggie Swim Day, the pool will be closed for the year.
