The candidates for the respective state and county races are set in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, there are three county contested races. For Supervisor District 1, it is Greg Ruth, a Democrat against Joe Gannon, a Republican. The incumbent Mick Burkett is not seeking re-election. Republican and incumbent John Muir is running against Democrat Victoria Riley for Supervisor District 4. Republican incumbent for Supervisor District 5 Pete Bardole is running unopposed.

Greene County Sheriff sees two candidates, including incumbent Jack Williams and Shane Monthei, who is running as no party affiliation. County Auditor is uncontested with Republican incumbent Billie Jo Hoskins on the ballot.

There are also contested races for Iowa Senate and House Districts that include Greene County. Senate District 24 has Republican incumbent Jesse Green against Democrat challenger Margaret Liston. House District 47 has Republican incumbent Carter Nordman against Democrat Joe Shelly.

Hoskins says eligible voters can submit their requests for an absentee ballot. However, the first day that absentee ballots can be mailed is October 16th, which is also the first day that people can start early voting in person at the Greene County Courthouse.
