Perry football kicked the season off last night against Des Moines Hoover.  The opener saw points in bunches.  The Bluejays started the party with a defensive score.  Cerna-Gomez had a scoop and score on the first defensive play by Perry.  He took the ball away and went 45 yards with it for the TD.    The next drive wouldn’t be as good.  The defense surrendered a 68 yard rush by Berry for the game tying touchdown.  The Bluejay offense would began to click.  Perry scored on three straight possessions.  1 yard rush by Kenney, 13 yard rush by Cerna-Gomez, and a second rushing TD by Kenney this one from 29 yards away.  Hoover would answer with their own scores.  The game was paused because of lightning with 3:57 to go in the second with a score of Perry 28 Hoover 21.

The game will resume today at 4:30P.  KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will have the game.
