With fall seasons in full bloom, the first football game of the 2024 for Adel-DeSoto-Minburn kicks off tonight.

The Tigers will be battling the Cardinals of Newton tonight in Adel, as ADM looks to capture an early victory. The Tigers traveled to Newton last year to begin the season as they defeated the Cardinals 49-21. The win gave ADM the 3-2 edge in the overall series between the two teams. The Tigers completed the 2023 season with a 7-4 overall record after beginning the year 6-1.

Unfortunately, ADM was hit with injuries, but despite that, still managed to make the playoffs where they beat Denison-Schleswig 42-0, then lost to Lewis Central. Newton concluded last year going 6-4 and fell in the Class 4A First Round game to Western Dubuque. The Tigers graduated 23 seniors from last year’s team and feature new Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch.

Tonight’s game will kick off at 7pm in Adel. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF beginning at 6pm.
