An Adel man and a passenger were victims in a fatal two vehicle crash that was the result of an alleged high speed chase in Des Moines Wednesday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 35-year-old Aaron Stonehocker, of Adel, and a passenger, were traveling southbound on 7th Street in Des Moines when a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a minor, struck Stonehocker’s 2019 Jeep Cherokee from the side. 

Iowa State Patrol believes that the minor was eluding law enforcement and was driving the wrong way down Grand Avenue at a high rate of speed before colliding with Stonehocker’s vehicle. There were five passengers in the minor’s vehicle with four of them injured and a 16 year old that was killed. 

The crash report shows Stonehocker and his passenger were treated for injuries and released. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
