Paton-Churdan will open the 2024 high school volleyball season in Churdan tomorrow vs. Storm Lake St. Mary’s. Both schools are among the smallest in the state and both have found it challenging to collect volleyball victories. In 2023, the teams combined to go 0-30 with the Rockets at 0-14 and St. Mary’s 0-16, meaning one of these squads will break a long losing streak.

Makayla Spaar returns as the head coach of the Rockets. Nearly all of the players on the team from a year ago are back this season. The coach expects a more experienced team that could very well be improved in every aspect of the game.
