A Fort Dodge man was arrested on a Greene County warrant from an alleged incident from December of 2023.
According to court documents, on December 17, 2023 51-year-old Marcus Hill won a jackpot on a slot machine at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson. Another person attempted to claim the jackpot and that individual filled out paperwork, including an IRS W-9 form, which is certified under penalty of perjury. Video surveillance showed Hill had won the jackpot. When Hill’s information was run through the Iowa Department of Administrative Services Offset Program, he owed $12,207 to the state.
Hill was charged with a Class D Felony for gambling-avoid setoff and an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree fraudulent practices. Court documents show that an arrest warrant was issued on December 20th and it was served on August 26th, when he was booked into the Greene County Jail.
