Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s Cross Country Senior Evelyn Horgen speaks on her favorite aspect surrounding running.
Horgen started running in seventh grade after her mother encouraged to be involved with sports. Ever since then, running has been apart of her routine, and now she is entering the final season as an ADM Tiger. Horgen pinpoints that the collective togetherness that is shown across the sport is really remarkable.
“I really love how supportive everyone is. Even when you’re competing in a race, you’re cheering on other teams, saying ‘we can make it through this, you got it, stick with me,’ and I love that about cross country.”
Horgen is striving to be one of the top runners for the Tigers and credits her coaches for getting her out of her comfort zone.
“They know how far to push me and know I can push myself even when things are difficult.”
The first meet for ADM is Saturday morning at 8am over at Johnston High School.
