One of the many projects in the City of Perry is ready to move into its next phase for the fall season.
According to Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson, city employees have completed work at the north park bridge at Frog Creek near Pattee Park. He emphasizes that the next part in the project is working on the park road bridge, heading south. Peterson pinpoints the plan for this fall.
“Doing some stream bank stabilization, creating a couple more of those ripple effects to help control that stormwater as it comes through and hopefully slow it down, so it slows down that erosion through that corridor.”
Peterson’s hope is that by the spring season, the results will seed out and establish itself really well. He explains that the Perry City Council recently approved an application to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources REAP (Resources Enhancement and Protection) for two pedestrian bridges that cross Frog Creek.
