The first high school sporting events for the new school year will be this week for Perry.  The Bluejays and Jayettes will resume competitions for the first time since mid-July.  On the docket for Perry is swimming, football, and cross country.  All three will have their first events of the year on Thursday.  The Jayettes will take the pool at the McCreary Center against Algona.  XC will travel to Gowrie for the Southeast Valley Invite.  Football will be at Mediacom Stadium in Des Moines to take on Hoover.  Perry will look for a strong start to the athletic calendar as all the competitions take place on August 29.  The Perry vs Des Moines Hoover football game will air on KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network.
