The Guthrie County Fair is coming up, and there are many events for everyone to enjoy.
The fair will be from August 28th to September 2nd this year. This Wednesday is mainly check in for static exhibits, along with the 4-H and FFA dog show. On Thursday check in and weigh in of livestock will take place, along with the Bill Riley Talent Show and free carnival rides. Friday, attendees will be able to enjoy livestock shoes, bingo and the Clover Kids show, along with the Brick Imerman and Hillbilly Band, and the Grand River Rodeo at the grandstand.
For next Saturday, there’s the Fair 5k Run, working dogs competition, parade, antique farm demonstrations and the truck and tractor pull at the grandstand. The following Sunday is Old Settlers Day, where attendees 70 or older are admitted to the fair for free. The 4-H Foundation Pie Auction will also be happening Sunday, along with floral demonstrations, a hypnotist, introduction of the 2024 Guthrie County Fair Queen, and Figure Eight Races as the grandstand event. Then on Labor Day, there will be a tractor ride in the morning, and exhibitors will be able to take their livestock home.
