Greene County 4-H’ers did well at this year’s Iowa State Fair.

According to ISU Extension, a total of 50 purple ribbons were earned by the Greene County 4-H’ers that competed in livestock and animal contests, including horse, beef, goats, sheep, poultry, swine and dog. The 4-H’ers for horses received 23 purple ribbons to lead all livestock and animal shows. 

As for static exhibits, 26 blue ribbons were awarded and there were several individual recognitions. Ella Tasler and Becca Anderson received a Seal of Excellence for their working exhibit, while Anderson additionally had another Seal of Excellence for her communication poster. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship honored two Greene County 4-H’ers with their award in ag and natural resources to Aiden Marshall and Savannah Lansman. Finally, Tasler was recognized with an award by the Professional Photographers of Iowa for one of her pictures.
