Fall sports have began their second week of practice this week.  Perry boys cross country coach, Nathan Krohn, is pleased with what he’s seen so far.  “Throughout this first week of practice, I’ve really noticed that some of the boys that participated a little bit more are quite a bit ahead of those boys that didn’t really put in the time over the summer.  So it’s good to see that some of our boys are putting in that effort and that the other boys that may not have put in that earlier are now trying to get caught up which is a good thing for competition within our practices.”  He also shared the different type of practices the team does.  “At least once a week we try to go through and do a longer run where we’ll put on maybe five or six or maybe seven miles.  We’ve done some interval training working on pacing and maintaining at pace here at the track and then we try to sprinkle in some hills at least one or two days a week.”

Perry cross country opens the year on August 29 at the Southeast Valley Invite.
